This Day In Mets Infamy With Rusty 7/3/09

Good Morning all - It is time for the “Lets Phuck up the Phils ” edition of ” This Day In Mets Infamy With Rusty” .. So get out yer Shane Prictorino voodoo dolls and lets get going !!

First off birthday greetings go out to to the man who summed up the Jeff Torborg era ( ugh I cringe when I think of Torborg!! ) Frank “Junkball” Tanana (1953) - he posted a 7 - 15 record with us until we shiped him off to the Yankees for outfielder Kenny Greer
also one year older today is supersub from the ’80’s Danny “the original Joe McEwing” Heep (1957)
also Moises “older than dirt” Alou (1966) - When you think about it in theory his signing was a good one - he was to (if healthy) provide proven veteran leadership and was astill a potent bat - unfortunately he as we all know didn’t stay healthy and as a end result collapded the last 2 years.
New York Mets traded John “Who Dat? ” Hudek to the Cincinnati Reds for elite pinch hitter Lenny ” The black Rusty Staub” Harris on July 3, 1998.

Cincinnati Reds claimed Andy “Dandy” Phillips of the New York Mets on waivers on July 3, 2008
And from what my sources tell me - Mo Vaughn will be stationing himself out side Pat’s Cheesesteaks in and attempt to bring good kharma to the Mets ( in Mo’s mind he feels moral will be low if there isn’t a good cheesesteak to be found in Philly this weekend)
and on that note GO METS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
