Good morning Mets fans the Jeff “Frenchy” Francour era has arrived with a bang last night ( I was there - good game !), So that means it’s time for mid morning edition of “This Day In Mets Infamy With Rusty” so strap on your chapeaus and lets get going !
First off birthday wishes goes out to the firstbase coach of the ‘76 and ‘77 campaigns Denny ” the Schmooze” Sommers (1940)
pitcher from the mid ’60’s - Dick ” Rusty ” Rusteck (1941)
New York Mets sold Don ” Full Deck ” Cardwell to the Atlanta Braves on July 12, 1970.- Cardwell was the most overlooked pitcher of the ‘69 season he went 8 -10 with a era in the 3’s

New York Mets signed free agent Marlon ” not Tito “Anderson of the Los Angeles Dodgers on July 12, 2007 as we all know Marlon was a lightening rod for that ‘07 team but he did’t come anywhere near his ‘07 stats in ‘08 and was releasedin early April of this year when he couldn’t hit a beach ball with a bat .
Marlon was last seen at Jamaica Hospital last night after attending the game at Citi Field . It turns out he was the guest of Mo Vaughns and they were both eating Krispy Kreme doughnuts , Well they had a fight over the remaining fried doughy treat and Mo Vaughn went all medevil on his heiney. Long story short Marlon now knows what his spleen tastes like
