Good Morning my fellow Mets fans ( I know there are still a few of you out there !!) It’s time for everyones favorite breakfast treat - Yes it’s time for ” This Day In Mets Infamy With Rusty” !
First off Birthday wishes goes out to our stud relief ( Yeah I know that’s a oxymoron for that team) pitcher of the mid to late ’70’s - Skip Lockwood (1946) Skip was a victim of circumstance - kinda like Jeff Reardon or K-ROD , he was a solid closer but the teams he was on were so putrid that his numbers didn’t reflect his talent.

On this date in 2004, the New York Mets traded back up catcher Tom Wilson to the Los Angeles Dodgers for Tony Socarras .

And lastly on this date last year our New York Mets traded Anderson ” Hello again - naturally” Hernandez to the Washington Nationals for Luis Ayala .

  1. CaseStreet says:

    A. Hern has been a pleasant surprise. Though, I heard he let two balls get past him yesterday. Much better than A. Berroa or W. Valdez, right?
