Hey guy, sorry I’m late. I was stuck at Mo Vaughn’s house because he invited me for a bar b que - what I didn’t know was I was the one to be eaten ! It seems Mo eats the people who he doesn’t like, and I guess I was number one with a BULLET on his list! So did I miss anything? We lost? Well there goes mounting a 16 game winning streak to get us back into contention.
So while we are all sulking here’s todays infamy report.
First off happy birthday to the second pitching coach ion Mets history - the late Ernie White (1916)
Also another year older is former second round draft pick that went nowhere after a brief stint with us John Christensen ( 1960)
And lastly outfield reserve Matt ” Guitar” Watson is thirty one(1978)
And on this day in 1963, Our beloved New York Mets signed free agent Ron ” Rocky” Swoboda. He went on to play 8 years with the Mets before being traded to the Expos - and he is also one of the nicest ball players I ever met
