Let the day begin
Let the horror start
Let the fury swell
Let the skies all cry
Let the day begin !!
Let The Day Begin - Samhain
Well at least part of this nightmare is over but we all know the pain is gonna fester for the next five months due to The Yankee fans self righteous back patting, partying and smugness while they rub it in our collective faces . for the next five months we will endure chants of ” 27 World Championships!!’ and ” LET GO YANKEES!!” while we angrily bite our tongues - but we are Met Fans - its our lot in life
So congratulations to the Yankees and their fans. And I hope Omar, Jeff and Fred were watching every game of this World Series and I hope they are forced to watch the ticker tape parade down the Canyon Of Heroes. I hope they feel the pain that us Mets Fans feel. But I should know better !!

All I’m going to say is, ‘Good’ and ‘It’s over’.
Let the Hot Stove begin!
i know you 4decades - this is killing you inside like it is all of us
Well yeah…..notice I just couldn’t quite choke out congratulations to the ‘09 WS winners. I think most Met fans would sympathize.
I’m just truly glad it’s over.
Its not over for the Met fans living in the tri-state area Its going to be hell for the next week What makes me sick is now all the front running fans that didn’t even watch more then 5 Yankee games think they have a right to bust chops I keep saying at least it wasn’t Philly but I am still sick about this
its gonna be hell for until atleast february when spring training starts
im just happy the yankees are classy enough not to mock the mets in their speeches
No but there fans will .I wish we had owners that gets there balls twisted over this but it won’t happen
I KNOW I KNOW - WELL US FANS HAVE TO HOLD THE WILPONS ACCOUNTABLE
If our owners gave a damn we’d have a new manager right now at the very least (and probably a new GM). But no, “it’s all the injuries, nothing more”. Get ready for one more year of misery.
lets hope paris wilpon puts his money where his mouth is - and don’t be surprised if the mets woo gerry hunsicker back as a assistant to the gm
Congrats, Yankees. Now let’s get this final offseason with Omar underway.
From rough estimates, I’m seeing a Phillies 2010 payroll between $125 and $130 million *before* any free agency signings.
That’s with a starting staff of Lee/Hamels/Happ/Blanton/Moyer and a bullpen that needs serious work. Their lineup won’t change most likely, though they could replace Feliz at 3B. They’ll need one or two role players/bench guys as well.
It’ll be interesting to see which team (Mets/Phillies) has the higher payroll to start the 2010 season.
I think we still will but if the Phillies extend Lee it will most likely go up even more.
I don’t know, if I were the Phillies I’d be worried about the rotation and the bullpen. Who knows if Hamels will rebound next season or not. Moyer’s an injury risk, old, and bound to continue his decline. I doubt Happ will repeat his very good 2009 season (if he does they’ll be alright though). And Blanton will probably continue to be a decent #4. Do they have a backup though? Kendrick?
And Lidge will probably get the closer’s role to start the season, but what if he starts off miserably again? No one else has worked, they probably need to get a backup there as well.
Yeah they really need to invest in a Gonzalez and then pick up a guy like Wolf.
That would be a good plan.
Yeah would only cost them about 14 million or so but I don’t know if they have it.
And it starts here in my office in Whiteplains I have a bunch of Yankee fans acting like the Yankees solved world peace and I has a Yankee fan just say that they should sign Halladay to play LF for them They jut won the WS and he wants to add more all stars Man they are spolied or what
If they get Halladay to play LF then I will be impressed. I am not sure how good of a hitter he is. LOL.
But for Holliday, I don’t see why they would not be interested. If they Let Matsui, Damon and Nady all walk that pays for 2 Hollidays.
LOL I meant Holliday I just hope Omar and the Wilpons makes smart moves and not resign Delgado and Wolf and call it a off season .
If they do those 2 moves AND get Lackey or Holliday then I will be very content.
If I had to bet on the off season, I would take the shortest odds on the fact that Holliday will besigned by the Yankees. They probably already have the jersey made, just to save time.
Nady and Damon walk, saving ~19.5 million. That goes to Holliday.
Marsui probably could be resigned for DH, or they can pick up one of the many available options cheaper. Maybe Jim Thome?
IIRC, the rest of their team is all locked up, other than Petite who probably comes back for another year.
so Holliday in, and payroll still could be lower thanks to Matsui.
Only question is, do they go after lackey too, or a cheaper SP?
Yeah technically if they let Pettite, Matsui, Damon and Nady go they could get Holliday and Lackey or Holliday and Harden.
Congrats to the yankees, but you guys still suck
Well thanks Dirty. LOL.
Oh wait that’s not what you meant.
Ah, serves me right for rooting for the Phils.
