Let the day begin
Let the horror start
Let the fury swell
Let the skies all cry
Let the day begin !!

Let The Day Begin - Samhain

Well at least part of this nightmare is over but we all know the pain is gonna fester for the next five months due to The Yankee fans self righteous back patting, partying and smugness while they rub it in our collective faces . for the next five months we will endure chants of27 World Championships!!’ and ” LET GO YANKEES!!” while we angrily bite our tongues - but we are Met Fans - its our lot in life
So congratulations to the Yankees and their fans. And I hope Omar, Jeff and Fred were watching every game of this World Series and I hope they are forced to watch the ticker tape parade down the Canyon Of Heroes. I hope they feel the pain that us Mets Fans feel. But I should know better !!

Okay here comes the Infamy !!!
Happy Birthday to a pitcher from the awful mid ’60’s teams -Jim Bethke (1946)
Backup first baseman for the ‘74-’75 team -Brock Pemberton is 56 (1953)
Late season call up for the ‘83 team - Mike Bishop is 51 (1958)
Reliever for the ‘05 team -José Santiago is 35 (1974) .
New York Mets released reliever , Randy Jones on November 5, 1982. He retired soon afterwards with a foot injury.

Philadelphia Phillies signed light hitting catcher Alberto Castillo of the New York Mets as a free agent on November 5, 1998.

Spot starter and long relief pitcher - Dave Williams was granted free agency on November 5, 2007.

And remember its 151 long painfully slow more days until the Mets open the 2010 season against Florida at Citi Field.

All I’m going to say is, ‘Good’ and ‘It’s over’.

    Let the Hot Stove begin!

Its not over for the Met fans living in the tri-state area Its going to be hell for the next week What makes me sick is now all the front running fans that didn’t even watch more then 5 Yankee games think they have a right to bust chops I keep saying at least it wasn’t Philly but I am still sick about this

  3. darknova306 says:

Congrats, Yankees. Now let’s get this final offseason with Omar underway.

  4. prismo says:

From rough estimates, I’m seeing a Phillies 2010 payroll between $125 and $130 million *before* any free agency signings.

That’s with a starting staff of Lee/Hamels/Happ/Blanton/Moyer and a bullpen that needs serious work. Their lineup won’t change most likely, though they could replace Feliz at 3B. They’ll need one or two role players/bench guys as well.

It’ll be interesting to see which team (Mets/Phillies) has the higher payroll to start the 2010 season.

And it starts here in my office in Whiteplains I have a bunch of Yankee fans acting like the Yankees solved world peace and I has a Yankee fan just say that they should sign Halladay to play LF for them They jut won the WS and he wants to add more all stars Man they are spolied or what

    • trs86 says:

If they get Halladay to play LF then I will be impressed. I am not sure how good of a hitter he is. LOL.
But for Holliday, I don’t see why they would not be interested. If they Let Matsui, Damon and Nady all walk that pays for 2 Hollidays.

      • metfreak says:

LOL I meant Holliday I just hope Omar and the Wilpons makes smart moves and not resign Delgado and Wolf and call it a off season .

      • stickguy says:

If I had to bet on the off season, I would take the shortest odds on the fact that Holliday will besigned by the Yankees. They probably already have the jersey made, just to save time.

Nady and Damon walk, saving ~19.5 million. That goes to Holliday.

Marsui probably could be resigned for DH, or they can pick up one of the many available options cheaper. Maybe Jim Thome?

IIRC, the rest of their team is all locked up, other than Petite who probably comes back for another year.

so Holliday in, and payroll still could be lower thanks to Matsui.

Only question is, do they go after lackey too, or a cheaper SP?

  6. dirtysanchez says:

Congrats to the yankees, but you guys still suck

  7. CaseStreet says:

Ah, serves me right for rooting for the Phils.
