Our Story
It all started on Tuesday, May 19th, 2009 when a number of readers of a major Mets blogging and news site decided they wanted another option. Over the next few days, many thoughts were thrown around and a lot of ideas were put into motion immediately.
mrose already had a message board on an unused site that he was willing to give to the cause, mainly as a temporary solution until something bigger could be born. For the first day or so, this was the main gathering area for the first members of this new venture.
At this time, the wheels were in motion for a number of ventures, including a completely new blog, and a domain name and the purpose of the name. On May 20th, one day after the initial ideas began, TRS began a blog site over at wordpress.com complete with gamethreads, news and great pictures with captions.
Soon, our own DirtySanchez teamed up with TRS in writing for the new blog, and they created the joint venture now known as The Real Dirty Mets Blog that you are visiting today. This blog was For the Fans and By the Fans as well, which meant that a few of the fans also were inducted in as authors to the site. This list of writers now includes all the people you see on the left hand bar, most of them with their own specialty in what they write about.
Late Sunday, May 24th, 2009, The Real Dirty Mets Blog as well as the forums that we were temporarily housing moved to http://www.nleastchatter.com and have been located here since that time. The Real Dirty Mets Blog is located at http://www.nleastchatter.com/realdirtymets and the forum is at http://www.nleastchatter.com/forum.
Once this was set though, we were still left with many tasks, and luckily received help on one of them that put us at ease. Mr. North Jersey stepped up with a bunch of great custom graphics for our site that are now on display at the forum, the home page and The Real Dirty Mets Blog. His time and amazing ability has made us feel great about the design of our site as well as any future needs.
The next task was finding other blogs about other NL East teams to fill the idea of NL East Chatter. We found Matt F’s BravesBaseBallBlog and he joined up with our site on Thursday, May 28th, 2009. We couldn’t be happier with his site, and we ask that you spread the word to any Braves fans to check his site out at http://www.nleastchatter.com/BravesBaseballBlog .
At this point, we are still a long way from being done, but with the help of fans, other blogs and as much word of mouth as possible, we hope to continue to give a successful fan forum, and blogs for every NL East team on a daily basis. Specifically if you know anyone who is A Marlins, Nationals or Phillies fans and wants to start their own blog, or has one they’d like to port over to our site, please contact us.
We thank you for the help and the continued support of the site and ask that you please send any suggestions or criticisms to realdirtymets@nleastchatter.com if it pertains to The Real Dirty Mets Blog, nlecadmin@nleastchatter.com if it pertains to the overall site, and m1fournier@nleastchatter.com for anything regarding the Braves Baseball Blog.
Thanks again
TRS, DirtySanchez and mrose

No criticism here, just a thank you
for the chance to be able to engage
in the open forum provided to fellow
Met fans BY fellow Met fans.
While many of us may disagree about
certain things,it’s pretty clear we
all love our Mets and most have opinons which are founded in fact
and reality NOT just blind loyalty
to ownership,management or sponsorship.Overall,great job!
Things will get better, they always do.
Lets just hope we all don’t have to suffer too long while ownership tries
and figure out what the problems are
and how to go about correcting them.
Luckily for us, YOU guys here @TRDMB
have kept a sense of humor through a
very rough season while you attempted
to get THIS off the ground.
It has allowed some of us die-hard,
crazy fanatics continue to follow
our team without the “big brother”
rules and regs found on other sites.
Continued success!
Heres hoping we could use that phrase
when talking about our Mets, one day!!
I have a good idea for this website actually…lets do a total make-over because everything is working fine, make it impossible for 3/4 of our posters to return when the website is back up, and totally demolish the websites following…o right that was already done, it’s called metsblog.com.
