This Day In Mets Infamy - THE STEVE PHILLIPS IS A DOUCHE EDITION ! 10-21-09

Ok so as Mets fans our worst nightmare of a New York Yankees/ Philadelphia Philles World Series is about to come to fruition, Well I have a little piece of news that should put a smile on all Mets fans faces every where !! According to New York Post reporters Jeane MacIntosh & Dan Mangan, www.nypost.com , Former New York Mets General Manager and current ESPN analyst Steve Phillips was caught in a illicit affair with a 22-year-old production assistant, who, after being dumped, pulled a “Fatal Attraction” on Phillips wife with taunting phone calls and letters that bragged about her trysts with Phillips while taking pot shots at their “loveless marriage“.

Phillips allegedly admitted to his wife and local cops that he had slept with ESPN assistant Brooke Hundley several times this past summer before ending the relationship. His wife, Marni , is now suing him for divorce and Steve Phillips is allegedly being suspended from his job at ESPN. As we all know , this isn’t the first time this has happened to Good Old Stevie boy. Who could forget that awkward press conference back in 1998 when he admitted to having sex with a team employee, Rosa Rodriguez, who later sued him and the Mets for sexual harassment, Phillips was forced to a brief leave of absence by Mets ownership and was temporarily replaced by ex General Manager Frank Cashen the case later settled out of court. As much as I feel for Steve Phillps’s wife and teenage sons, I still feel it couldn’t have happened to a better guy - except Chase Utley

Phillips

Okay here  in comparison is the  not so infamous !!!
Happy Birthday to former relief pitcher for the 2001 Steve Phillips era team - Dicky Gonzalez. He is 31 . ( 1978) He was traded in 2002 to the Montreal Expos along with Bruce Chen and Luis Figueroa for reliever Scott Strickland , Matt Watson & Phillip Seibel.

Oh ,and just an observation is regards to last nights  Yankees/ Angels game . THOSE UMPIRES SHOULD BE  DIPPED IN A VAT OF MOLASES AND HAVE  A COLONY OF FIRE ANTS HAVE A FIELD DAY ON THEM  !!!!

Well, I think we all knew he wasn’t a very smart man. But I just have to say it:
    What. An. Idiot.
You sure know how to pick ‘em Steve. I often wonder what goes on in some people’s minds…

A Yankees/Phils WS: this is a fitting end to arguably the worst season we, as Met fans, have ever suffered through.

And what is up with this umpiring? We thought there was something to complain about all season….this post season play has really brought some problem to light with all of them as a whole. Three blown calls in one inning last night. Many of these they’re getting wrong are not the bang-bang type plays either. It’s out by a country mile at second but called safe. It’s a double two feet down the LF line called foul. And my personal favorite was that play at 3rd last night where, if the ump actually knew the rules, both Cano and Jorge should have been called out.
Time to send them all back to umpiring school….

What’s worse, getting your employer sued for your idiocy or having a psycho torture your family? Probably the latter. And this time he has the potential for both.

The only real question here is who is more of a blind moron, Phillips’ wife or his girlfriend.

      Probably about even.

His being a total scumbag of course goes without saying.

Yawn….a cheating lying jerk, and two moronic women who want him for his dough and celebrity.

      • CaseStreet says:

don’t know. they have 4 sons together, so you could see why his wife let him back after the first time. Also, the wife had Phillips go to mass and therapy so it’s not like she was totally oblivious. Plus, if it was about money, she could’ve divorced him after the first affair and gotten a pretty good amount considering he had just committed adultery.

On the other hand, Phillips is a douchebag, dirtbag and scumbag. That pretty much covers it.

        • wannybackstra says:

Generally in no-fault states (all but NY) and equitable distribution states (most) adultery is more relevant to the fitness of a parent in custody battles. Adultery is really only a factor financially as it might relate to dissipation of marital assets, i.e. gifts for the other partner, hotel rooms, etc. If Stevie Schtupper was bringing his girls to the Pierre and buying them cars, he’d likely get stuck “repaying” his wife for that misuse of the marital assets.

  4. Either Phillips never saw “Fatal Attraction” or he did see it but didn’t understand it.

I consider it the equivalent of “Scared Straight” for marital fidelity.

Thank you for such a convincing portrayal Glenn Close. You’ve helped me keep my mind straight and my zipper up for years.

Question…what has Chase ever done to you? Besides give his all…
I know you guys are real baseball fans you should at least respect a guy who plays hard everyday and even harder against his biggest competition/rivals.

I could never say that about David Wright no matter how hard he wrecks us.
